Ruth Saludes, Executive Director
Ruth joined the staff of Arte Americas as Interim Director in December of 2019 and later in June 2020 became Executive Director. She is a graduate of Harvard University (Ed.M.) and the University of California Berkeley (B.A). Her managerial experience includes directing or coordinating educational programs, women’s programs, and foreign exchange programs. She has also worked as a writer, university lecturer, academic advisor, development officer for public radio, Anti-Money Laundering Analyst, apprentice carpenter and a Master Gardener! Her interests and activities in the arts include photography, videography and work as a curator/preparator at a local photo gallery.
Alejandra Prado, Program Manager
She has a B.A. degree in Social Work and Chicano Studies and a Masters in Educational Leadership and Administration from CSU Fresno. She started working at Arte on the first of March and in just a matter of weeks she put our Program Committee back in action. She is dong an excellent job and has been a tremendous asset to our organization.
Will Vander Kooi, Bookkeeper
Working at Arte since January 2020, he says, “It’s been rewarding to be a part of the great work Arte does in the community”. He is a full-time student at Fresno State and will graduate with a B.S. in Accounting in May 2021. He has been a strong force in keeping our finances in order.
Selina Lopez, Administrative & Gallery Assistant
A volunteer and employee at Arte for the past three years, she is currently helping with data entry, updating our membership, sending out quarterly e-blasts, and assisting with curatorial and preparatory work at the gallery. She is an artist and has exhibited at Arte Américas. She has a B.S. degree from CSU Fresno in business, and a minor in Art.
Jesus Pelayo, Rural Fellow
He is the first Amy and Juan Arambula Rural Fellow to join our team. He will complete his B.A. degree in Anthropology with a Humanics Certificate from Fresno State in May of 2021. He is a doing an outstanding job as our new Rural Fellow managing the Mendota High School project under the Director’s supervision.
Theodore Davis, CAC Administrative Fellow
Theodore is an artist philosopher from the Central Valley. He completed his master’s program at San Francisco State University and currently attends the Institute for Doctoral Studies in the Visual Arts in S.F researching the intersections of philosophy and art. He is also the moderator for PlaticArte!, a new virtual program for Arte Américas. It’s a pleasure and delight to welcome him to Arte Américas for the year 2021.
