Meet the Artists:
Gabriela Shiroma is a celebrated Afro-Peruvian dancer and educator known for her passionate work in preserving and promoting Afro-Peruvian culture, music, and dance. Her performances have become a staple of community events, spreading joy and cultural awareness.
Peta Robles Izquierdo is one of Peru’s most extraordinary female percussionists. Born into the legendary “Los Izquierdo” family, she mastered the Afro-Peruvian cajón and zapateo from a young age. As Peru’s National Champion of Female Percussionists, she has traveled the world, representing Afro-Peruvian music and dance on an international stage.
