Michelle is a Fellow at Arte Américas who’s extremely passionate about the culture that plays a huge part in forming California, which is the Chicanx and Latinx identities. Michelle is a Fresno State student studying Latin American Studies alongside adopting a minor in Spanish. She is extremely passionate about her culture and the education she has pursued in efforts preserve such a rich and important part of history. Previously, she was a Gallery Educator at Arte Américas for the exhibition Humanizar Historias by Dr. Lizbeth De La Cruz Santa, where she gained a more profound view of U.S Latin American relations, solidifying her career choice as a future educator. Michelle plans to graduate from Fresno State in 2028 before continuing her education in graduate school in order to become a professor for Latin American Studies in Southern California. She is extremely proud of her academic accomplishments, which consist of being on both the Deans and Presidents lists throughout her whole time in Fresno State. She is very excited to continue her academic journey beyond the classroom by engaging thoughtfully and excitedly with her local Latinx community.
