Arte Américas is the largest non-profit cultural center in the
Central Valley. We began our operation in a rented one room
office located on a store front on Fulton Street. Through the
dedication of our Board Members and hard work of our staff and
volunteers, Arte Américas has grown to be a very important part
of the Cultural Arts District of Fresno. Arte Américas purchased
its own building, located at 1630 Van Ness Avenue, in 1995.
Shortly thereafter we acquired an adjoining acre of land which
now houses our Plaza.
Our
Building Houses:
Over 10,000 square feet of gallery, meeting and classroom space,
two gift shops, a library of Latino literature and a kitchen. We
recently completed a 1642 square foot addition of new bathrooms,
serving kitchen area, and a kiosko in our Plaza.
A museum within our cultural center, which is a partnership
between Arte Americas and the Fresno Arts Museum.
What
We Offer:
• Art shows and exhibits
• Children's and adult theatre classes
• La Peña Brings Cultural Activities to our center during the
year, one friday per month.
• Nights in the Plaza: a 10 week summer concert series in our
Plaza
• The Rebozo Festival, held on Mother's Day, is an event that has
sold out the last four years
• Arte Américas is a partner of the Girl Scouts to create the Arte
Américas Troop. Meetings in Spanish and English are held at our
center; with ballet lessons following the meetings.
Workshops on toy making, beadwork, ceramics, and other
disciplines
• Book readings, poetry slams and spoken word events
•
Meeting and reception space for over 47 community

The remarkable thing about Arte Américas is that we operate on a
volunteer staff. If you would like to become a volunteer all you

Our membership is reciprocal with the Fresno Art Museum. In
other words, if you join Arte Américas, your card is also good
for free admission to the Fresno Art Museum. Admission to our
concerts and other events varies.
